5. Global Navigation Bar
The Global Navigation Bar (GNB) is the top area on the screen that displays your current location along with links to your Dashboard, Notebooks, and to Springnote's homepage. This area shows information on a user's current location (left portion of GNB) and user-relevant links (right portion of GNB) when signed in. The Global Navigation Bar is always visible and can be used to sign into (right portion of GNB) Springnote. Once signed in, the right portion of the Global Navigation Bar will display user-relative links.
The right portion of the Global Navigation Bar changes depending on your sign in status. If you have signed in, menus with user-related links are present; if you have not signed in, you will see an area to sign in as shown in the images below.

Components of the Global Navigation Bar
Notebook Front Page
Clicking this icon will take you to the cover page of notebook you are currently viewing.
Location
Area that displays the current location within the currently viewed notebook according to depth.
Notifications
Notifications are displayed whenever a user receives messages, requests, or invitations. Clicking this will take the user to his/her Inbox. (Learn more)
My Dashboard
Area that enables users to view information on their Personal Notebooks, joined Group Notebooks, and Notebooks on their Watch List. Users can also easily navigate to their Inbox, Comments, and Account Settings through tabs.
My Notebooks
A list of chosen notebooks that are displayed under My Notebooks in the Global Navigation Bar. Notebooks that are displayed can be added/removed from the Dashboard by adding/removing the check icon on Notebooks listed in Personal Notebooks, Collaborative Notebooks, and Watch List. Users can also create a new notebook from this menu by clicking the Create a new notebook link.
Home/Help
A menu that includes links to Springnote's homepage, Springnote user manual, FAQ, keyboard shortcuts, and the Springnote forum that is always available at the user's convenience.
Sign Out
Signs the signed in user out of Springnote.
