3. View Mode
View Mode is a mode for page viewing. View Mode can be broken down into 14 different parts. Descriptions on each component's function can be found below. View Mode is shown by default to Springnote users that do not have write access to a notebook/page. Notebook owners can also set the default screen mode that is displayed from Notebook Settings.
Add to Watch List
Option to add the currently viewed Notebook to your Watch List. (Learn more - Dashboard, Global Navigation Bar)
Comments
Area where Springnote users can leave short remarks about the page content. Comments can be turned off by the Notebook owner in Notebook Settings.
Edit Mode
Option to convert to Edit Mode. This button is only functional if the user has write access to the page/notebook. (Learn more about Edit Mode)
Global Navigation Bar
The Global Navigation Bar is the area on the top portion of the screen that shows information on a user's current location (left portion) and user-relevant links (right portion) when signed in. The Global Navigation Bar is always visible and can be used to sign into (right portion) Springnote. Once signed in, the right portion of the Global Navigation Bar will display user-relative links. Last Edited
Area that displays the date and time of the current page's last revision.
Linked Pages
Area that displays other Springnote pages that have links to the currently viewed page.
Page Content
Area that displays the content of the page.
Page Navigation
This section is divided by two tabs - All Pages and Updates. All Pages displays all pages in its original hierarchical structure. Updates displays the most recently updated pages in the order they were updated.
Page Options
Features for users viewing a page in View Mode to either print the page [ ], view pages in XHTML [
], or view the page as an RSS feed [
].
Page Tags
Area that displays all tags that have been assigned to the page. (Learn more about tags)
Page Title
Area that displays the title of the currently viewed page.
Previous / Next
Previous / Next allows users to easily navigate to the previous or next page. Next can only be used to navigate to the next alphabetical page within the same page depth or the next lower depth.
Profile
Area that displays a notebooks profile which includes the Notebook's title, owner (not shown in Group Notebooks), and Notebook description. These items can be edited by the notebook owner in Notebook Settings..
Search
Option for users to search for relative page titles or content by keyword.
